UK: Fear of New variant A.Y.4.2 in UK, 234 deaths in last 24 hour

On the one hand, there has been a decline in the number of corona patients in almost the entire world, including India. In UK, on the other hand, 223 sudden deaths in 24 hours have spread panic. There were 223 deaths in UK on Tuesday, the highest number since March this year, according to official figures.

Meanwhile, 43,738 new patients were registered. The biggest reason for this is believed to be AY.4.2, the new version of Delta in the UK. The UK Department of Health has held the new variant responsible for the spread of the new case and asked it to be evaluated.

 

Is this variant dangerous?

Delta’s new variant AY.4.2 is not currently considered dangerous. This was first known in July 2021. The Delta variant has some new mutations, which affect the spike protein. Experts say AY.4.2 is potentially more contagious. But it cannot be compared to the Delta or Alpha variant which was 50 to 60% more contagious.

14,623 patients were found in India in 24 hours; 197 deaths

India has seen a slight increase in corona virus infections. In the last 24 hours, 14,623 new cases have been detected in the country. During this time 197 patients died. With the new figures, the total number of infected people in the country has gone up to 3 crore 41 lakh 8 thousand 996. Besides, 4 lakh 52 thousand 651 patients have died so far. At present 1 lakh 78 thousand 98 patients are undergoing treatment in the country.

1,638 new cases of Covid-19 in Maharashtra

The total number of infected people rose to 65,94,820 with 1638 new cases of Covid-19 in Maharashtra on Tuesday, while the death toll rose to 1,39,865 with the death of 49 more patients. This information was given by an official of the state health department.

According to the official, 2,791 patients have recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people free from the infection to 64,24,547. In Maharashtra, the number of patients undergoing treatment for Covid-19 has increased to 26,805. The recovery rate from infection is 97.42 per cent, while the mortality rate is 2.12 per cent.

More than 7,000 cases in Kerala

The total number of infected people in the state has risen to 48,59,434 after 7,643 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Kerala on Tuesday. In the last 24 hours in the state, 77 more patients have died due to the epidemic, a total of 27,002 infected people have died in the state so far.

The state health department issued a press release to this effect. In the last 24 hours in Kerala, 10,488 patients of Covid-19 have been infected, bringing the total number of people in the state who have contracted the deadly virus to 47,60,781. The number of patients undergoing treatment for Covid-19 in the state is 80,262, the release said.

In Delhi

Covid-19 killed one person and infected 36 others in Delhi on Tuesday. According to the city’s health department, the infection rate is 0.06 percent. Five people died of corona virus infection in the city last month. One of them died on September 7, 16 and 17, while two died on September 28.
