Mukesh Ambani entry in petrol pump sector; vehicle related services under one roof

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and BP’s Fuel and Mobility joint venture Reliance BP Mobility Limited (RBML) today launched the first Jio-bp branded mobility station at Navade in Navi Mumbai. Working in challenging epidemic-affected environments, Jio-bp is bringing a network of world-class mobility stations offering customers multiple fuel options.

The Jio-bp brand is poised to deliver an unparalleled and unique customer experience while redefining mobility solutions in India. The existing network of more than 1,400 fuel pumps will be rebranded as Jio-bp. The customer will introduce a new range of value proposals in the coming months.

India’s market for fuel and mobility is growing rapidly. The next 20 years are expected to be the fastest growing fuel market in the world. Jio-bp mobility stations are designed to meet this growing demand and are ideally located for the convenience of customers.

They bring together a range of services for customers on the go, including added fuel, EV charging, snacks and food, and plans to offer more low-carbon solutions over time.

With millions of customers in Geo and Reliance Retail, the joint venture is well on its way to becoming a leader in fuel and mobility, taking advantage of Reliance’s extensive presence and in-depth experience in consumer businesses across India. Quality differentiated fuels, lubricants, facilities and advanced low carbon mobility solutions will be available.

Instead of regular fuel, Jio-bp mobility stations across the country will offer extra fuel at no extra cost. The fuel offering will feature internationally developed ‘Active’ technology, which creates a protective layer on critical engine parts to help keep the engine clean.

Jio-bp will also set up a network of EV charging stations and battery swap stations at its mobility stations and other standalone locations. The company aims to become the leading EV charging infrastructure player in India through this joint venture.

The convenience center is to provide snacks to the traveling customers through Wild Bean Cafe. Reliance Retail, India’s largest retailer in 24 × 7 shops, is a partner for daily necessities, snacks and sweets.

Wild Bean Cafe, an international on-the-move brand of BP, will serve its signature coffee with a mix of regional and local fare, including masala tea, samosas, upma, paneer tikka rolls and chocolate lava cakes. Jio-bp will offer a network of express oil change outlets in partnership with Castrol, free vehicle health checks at its mobility stations and free oil-change services by professionally trained specialists. Every two-wheeler customer purchasing Castrol Lubricant at Express Oil Change Outlets will be able to avail the Oil Change service free of charge.
